The team of Anatrans has been installing various new processing lines which will stimulate the capacity considerably. From the intake calibration to the final stage of processing and most stations in between, investments were made to increase quality and productivity of the plant. It will mean an increase in daily processing volume without the loss of jobs. On the other hand it also means that machine operators have to be trained to run the increasing number of installed machines. This means a shift in jobs, ie higher qualified people can be getting jobs at Anatrans.

In extending our impact our first priority is to expand the Afokantan Benin Cashew factory, our cashew processing facility in Benin. We’re working on strengthening the management team in preparing for the implementation of significant a capacity extension. This will mean more farmers reached and therefore a larger marketing potential as well.

Preparation for the new crop is underway with lots of farmer trainings and farmer connections, especially to prepare the system for the mobile app tool that Anatrans has been testing the past season. More on this in the next impact report.
