High expectations
The year 2019 was kicked off by believing that we were to expect the miracle (of multiplication of something limited into so much more, according to Matthew 14, and that we may have to get out of our comfort (the boat) to walk on water…. well, it turned out to be exactly that during the 2019/2020 season !
Wrong end of the stick?
Where markets, especially on Cashews, were quite depressed, the local presence of Nuts2 in Africa has proven to be a winning concept for farmers, local workers and international customers alike. Due to lack of finance in the international market, due to lack of confidence in the general market from Raw Cashew Nuts (RCN) traders and kernel buyers, due to larger trading companies having much less money in the (typically cash driven) procurement, the farmers found themselves at the wrong end of the stick.
Blessings
‘Thank God’, I humbly say, that He gave us both clear direction, but also wisdom and energy to use what we were provided, and create larger processing capacities and even more market for the RCN that the farmers had harvested.
All routes grew, and some of them -especially A and B routes and in the latter part of the season also the C route- grew greatly, allowing farmers that did not find a market, to supply to our local companies which marketed the products through Nuts2.
Our team

Our teams have grown, both in The Netherlands and in Africa and we pride ourselves in having a committed and loyal team that cares about the farmers, the workers and the consumers, enabling a link up of the entire value chain. This year can be looked back at as the best year in the company’s history, both in Africa and The Netherlands.
Therefore, ‘looking back is to rejoice’ !
